Zhijing Yu passed away in February 2026. We will never forget you.

Zhijing was a PhD student supervised by Dr. Marcos Fernández-Martínez, Dr. Xin Song and Dr. Roger Grau-Andrés. During her MSc studies, her research was focused on vegetation restoration, soil carbon sequestration, and the regulatory mechanism of mixed forests on soil organic carbon (SOC) fractions and mineralization. Within the STOIKOS project, Zhijing investigated the relationship between elemental diversity and soil carbon using experiments and global datasets.
