Anna is a PhD researcher in Terrestrial Ecology within the EDM research team. Her research focuses on how emerging contaminants, such as pharmaceuticals and pesticides, affect Mediterranean spring ecosystems, using bryophytes to assess ecosystem health and long-term pollution.Before starting her PhD, she completed her Master’s degree in Hydrology at Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and worked as an educator in California, where she taught ecology and helped students develop a love for being outdoors. Her research interests combine ecological monitoring, freshwater conservation, and the use of bryophytes to assess pollution impacts in Mediterranean spring ecosystems. .
